Protesters have partially blocked a bridge connecting the province of Ontario with the U.S. state of Michigan, one of North America’s most important transportation arteries. It is crossed daily by more than 40,000 people and costs $ 323 million.
At the same time, traffic on another highway connecting the two countries was also stopped.
Ford has already announced that due to the protest, two factories in Canada are operating at limited capacity due to disruptions in the supply of parts. Stellantis, Toyota and Honda have also experienced problems.
Protesters, meanwhile, are not going to make concessions and continue demonstrations in the capital, Ottawa, and elsewhere.

In Canada, protests began at the end of January with truck drivers required to be vaccinated against Covid-19. The protest later escalated into a wider movement against the restrictions on Covid-19 and the government of Prime Minister Justin Trudo.
