During the storming of Almaty, the security forces shot dozens of protesters, Kasym Amanzhol, head of the Kazakh bureau of Radio Azattyk, told the publication. According to him, the main events are developing in the western part of the city.
Amanzhol added that since the evening of January 5, there was no power in Almaty, but after the assault began, the military entered the city. As a result of their actions, there are a lot of victims, and there are not enough places in hospitals.
The journalist clarified that no one knows which military units are involved in the cleansing of the city. There is also no exact information about the number of detainees.
