Protested for being far away, the location for the election of the PBNU chairman moved to Bandar Lampung

Bandar Lampung

Location of the election of the General Chair (Ketum) PBNU agreed to be relocated to Bandar Lampung. Because, a number of participants in the plenary session NU’s 34th Congress protested the location that had been determined from the start, namely the Daaarusa’adah Islamic Boarding School, Central Lampung, Lampung.

The Daaarusa’adah Islamic Boarding School was indeed used as the venue for the opening of the 34th NU Congress. However, it turned out that many congress participants complained that the distance from Lampung Airport City was too far. Moreover, the access road to the location is known to be dense with vehicles.

Finally, the location for the congress event was finally moved to Bandar Lampung, including the agenda for the election of the PBNU Chairman. This was conveyed by the Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the 34th NU Congress, Syahrizal Syarif.

“Earlier, I heard that there was a decision for the plenary meeting to be moved from Darussa’adah to Bandar Lampung,” said Syahrizal during a press conference at UIN Raden Intan, Lampung, Wednesday (12/22/2021).

However, until now the congress committee is still looking for an exact location to replace the Daarussa’adah Islamic Boarding School. According to him, the congress participants wanted a more comfortable location.

“But the place will be handed over to the organizers because the organizers know exactly about it. It hasn’t been decided yet, but there are plans to go there,” said Syahrizal.

“But no, this is not just a consideration, the participants have experienced going to Central Lampung. Now, the participants may want their activities to be comfortable. They are only considering the efficiency and comfort of the participants,” he added.
