In an interview, he also said that he had criticized the authoritarian leader of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in the past, but that he had begun to understand that Lukashenko was doing the right thing and that he was being respected.

At the end of the interview, Protasevich covered his face with his hands, began to cry and said that he hoped that one day he would get married and have children. There were injuries on his hands that could have been caused by handcuffs.

Roman Protasevich’s father, Dmitry Protasevich, who lives in Warsaw, said his son had not given the interview of his own free will.

“I am convinced that this is a consequence of the fact that he has been in the remand center of the State Security Committee for more than a week, he is being mocked, he is being tortured. At first they tried to strangle him, beat him, now you can see the traces of handcuffs, ”said Roman Protasevich’s father.

He added that his son had not been allowed to see a lawyer for five days.
