Objective, consolidate the bridge using props
While a short distance away, the bridge connecting Briare to Châtillon continues to evolve, with the objective of completing the work in the last quarter of 2021 or in the first quarter of 2022, the structure spanning the canal, between Saint-Firmin and Châtillon , on the departmental road 951, has recently been installed.

“Our structures are monitored every year, with a more in-depth inspection every six years. There was a shift of a few millimeters, on the Saint-Firmin side, on this building set at an angle to the canal, ”underlines Sandrine Eugène, director of infrastructure for the Loiret departmental council.
“With the work in progress on the other bridge, we could not undertake a site now. Indeed, we must leave the possibility to the heavy goods vehicles, which arrive or join Gien, to circulate. At the end of the first project, we will work on this bridge, in order to consolidate it, surely during the first quarter of 2022 ”, she adds.
