The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) reported this Thursday through its official accounts that the process for the authorization of the US market for the carne vaccine of Paraguay is already at an advanced stage.
Said announcement was made known by the vice minister and ambassador, Raúl Silvero Silvagni, after a meeting he had with the director for Affairs with Brazil and the Southern Cone of the United States Department of State, Baxter Hunt.
On the occasion, Silvero expressed to Hunt the interest of Paraguay in getting the US market opened soon to Paraguayan beef.
For his part, the US representative assured that the authorization process is already at an advanced stage and that there are “positive forecasts” in this regard.
At the meeting, they also addressed other relevant issues for the bilateral and multilateral agenda and recalled the relationship between the two countries, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in defense and security matters.

Likewise, Hunt explained that the Alliance of the Americas for Economic Prosperity, an initiative of the United States that brings together 11 countries with which it has free trade agreements or preferential trade agreements, could also include other countries.
In November 2021, the Rural Association of Paraguay was optimistic about the opening of the United States market (320 million people) and recalled that it is one of the main meat importers in the world.
He pointed out that entering with a star export product in one of the most demanding markets in the world would make it easier to reach Canada (40 million people) and Mexico (120 million people).
