Professor Dr. Ali Ülkü Azrak lost his life due to coronavirus

Prof. Co-founder of Istanbul Faculty of Political Sciences. Dr. Ali Ülkü Azrak died in the Florence Nightingale hospital where he was treated. Professor Dr. Azrak’s wife recently died due to the new type of coronavirus.

WHO IS ALİ ÜLKÜ AZRAK?

He graduated from Vefa High School and Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1956. Dr. Ülkü Azrak was among the names who founded Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences in 1979. He became a professor in 1982, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences of Istanbul University between 1995-1998, and until 2000, when he retired, he worked as a lecturer at Istanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Management.

He was a faculty member at Maltepe University Faculty of Law between 2000-2009 and returned to Istanbul University in 2009. Professor Dr. Ülkü Azrak served as a member of YÖK between 2001-2005. On November 29, 2007 Dr. Tuğrul Ansay was awarded the First Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on behalf of the German President.
