Producers Guild of America Awards: “Squid Game” nominated, a first for a non-English series

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 27 (Yonhap) — South Korea’s Netflix series “Squid Game” was nominated by the Producers Guild of America (PGA) for Best TV Drama on Thursday, a first for a non-English-language series.

The Producers Union of America unveiled the list of nominations Thursday ahead of the 33rd Producers Guild of America Awards, which will be held March 19 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, Calif.

The series directed by Hwang Dong-hyeok is in the running in the same category with “The Handmaid’s Tale (Season 4)”, “The Morning Show (Season 2)”, “Succession (Season 3)” and “Yellowstone (Season 4) “.

The most viewed series on Netflix also received nominations for the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) Golden Reel Awards, Cinema Audio Society (CAS) Awards, Art Directors Guild (ADG) Awards and Costume Designers Guild (CDG) Awards.
