ProCamera gives more control over your camera in Iphone

Kamera & Bild’s sister magazine Mobil tells how the ProCamer app for Iphone can fix more setting options for your Iphone mobile – without giving up the automation.

Apple’s philosophy has always been a slightly patronizing “do not worry about it, we solve it for you” attitude. Often with fantastic results where you can trust that everything just works. When it comes to the mobile camera, this setting becomes extra clear. Apple really does its best to let you take good pictures at the touch of a button, but if you are not happy, you have very little opportunity to change the camera settings.

When you start ProCamera, you are greeted by a quite different user interface than in Apple’s camera app. Different but not difficult, and the fact is that here too you can choose to just press the large shutter button and the image result will be similar to that for Apple’s camera app.

But of course it is the rich setting options you are looking for, and here you can manually adjust iso-number, exposure compensation, exposure time, white balance (with two controls) and more. I am impressed with the user interface, where you can have up to two sliders on one side of the screen for different settings and easily switch between which without it becoming unclear which two sliders you have chosen. The settings work for all the phone’s cameras, and even for video filming, the app is functionally packed without feeling overloaded.

You can also get histograms, three different models, which are shown recessed in the screen on the left in the picture. You can choose to save images in raw format (several different variants) and you can choose the degree of compression if you save in jpeg or heif. There are also video instructions in the app for how to use all the features.
