The European Union and Great Britain are trying one last attempt at a post-Brexit trade deal. After eight months of unsuccessful negotiations, the delegations from both sides met in Brussels for what is believed to be the last round of negotiations. They have until tomorrow evening, when EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson want to take stock. Both had spoken of “significant differences” yesterday. Ireland’s Foreign Minister Simon Coveney believes an agreement is achievable. He told the Irish newspaper “Sunday Independent” that the agreement was 97 or 98 percent complete. Now you have to keep a cool head.
