Pro-Kremlin filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov’s health deteriorated markedly in the hospital

He was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia and poisoning, according to Russian media. Mikhalkov was reported to have been unwell for several days prior to admission.

The “Apollo.lv” portal reported on January 5 that Nikita Mikhalkov, the nightingale of war criminal Vladimir Putin, was hospitalized with pneumonia caused by the coronavirus, his condition was judged serious.

So far, Mikhalkova’s 1994 film ‘Sun Tired’ has gained the most attention, which has received both the Cannes Film Festival Grand Prix and the Oscar in the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ category.

Taking advantage of the success, Mikhalkov secured funds for a new project and in 1998 shot the big-budget film The Barber of Siberia. For this film, its creators were awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art.

Last year Mikhalkov was convinced that participation in the “Oscar” competition is useless.

His father, Sergei Mikhalkov, was the author of the lyrics to the national anthems of the USSR and Russia.

Nikita Mikhalkov is an active supporter of the Putin regime.
