‘Restaurant misunderstanding’

Dieter Coppens will soon open on One Restaurant misunderstanding, where the entire staff has been diagnosed with young-onset dementia. Due to their illness, they regularly have to deal with misunderstanding and they are often forced to stop working, which damages their self-confidence. Restaurant misunderstanding wants, with the help of chef Seppe Nobels, to show the outside world what they can still do. Even if it often doesn’t run smoothly.

“Both of my grandmothers got Alzheimer’s later in life. So I have experienced first-hand what that does to someone,” says Dieter Coppers.

‘Nothing is over’

On March 13, 2022 it will be 10 years ago that our country woke up to the news of an accident with a Belgian bus, on the way back from snow classes in Switzerland. 28 people were killed, 6 adults and 22 children from two schools: Het Stekske primary school in Lommel and the Sint-Lambertus school in Heverlee.

For actress Katrien De Ruysscher and VRT NWS journalist Lieven Van Gils, the event became part of their lives. For De Ruysscher because she came to live in Lommel Kolonie in 2013, for Van Gils because one of the victims, master Frank from Heverlee, was a very good friend. They look for parents, sisters, brothers and injured children again for this intimate series.

Later this spring on One.

‘The 80s for Teens’

Ask a teenager what they know about the 1980s and the answer is: nothing. And yet the world we live in today took on its color then. About a society in which everything larger than life – from pop stars to hairstyles -, but everyday life was often not so rosy.

‘Junior looking for love’

Should there still be Planckaerts? Of course. Junior Planckaert is a sporty 29-year-old who still lives at home, but dreams of building his own life. And preferably with someone by his side. In Junior looking for love he goes – yes – in search of love. And to himself. He is assisted by psychologist Sarah Van Pelt.

The VRT is already staying far away from the concepts of ‘elimination race’ and ‘rose ceremony’ – hello there, The bachelor.
