Kensington Palace has received word that news of Kate’s diagnosis has leaked to a third party. Therefore, the press service of the royal family had no choice but to be proactive.
It is unclear whether the leak originated from the London clinic where the princess underwent abdominal surgery in January, or from elsewhere.
“Whatever the reason, the outpouring of support for Kate confirmed that it was the right decision,” says royal expert Ephraim Hardcastle.
For obvious reasons, Prince William’s wife is not yet performing royal duties, focusing on her recovery.
The form of cancer has not been disclosed, but the future queen began a course of “preventative chemotherapy” in late February and is reportedly feeling positive.
