Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown – A Bold New Direction for the Series with Controversial Character Design and Time-Bending Storytelling

Before the arrival of the Assassin’s Creed series, the Prince of Persia series was the main series that was somewhat adopting this type of adventure game by Ubisoft, but it went through very difficult times, and fortunately, after almost 13 years, the series returned to us with a platformer game entitled The Lost Crown.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was developed by the Ubisoft Montpellier studio in the south of France, and is supposed to be fully launched on January 18, but fortunately we had a wonderful opportunity to experience the game for about 4 hours, and it was one of the most enjoyable hours I have invested in a game like it.

Super fun Metroidvania style with controversy!

The choice of the hero may be the most controversial thing. The character of the prince is known for being the usual character with neutral skin and a tidy appearance. Choosing the look of the young hero with dark skin and braided hair with hip-hop music may be a strange and controversial thing in all forms, but for me personally I loved it very much. Boldness and new direction with character design in the game.

The game is however a fast paced Metroidvania type game and does not represent games Prince of Persia Never before, it’s a game that takes on a less serious vibe than the previous one but that’s what works for a game of this type with a fairly fast pace.

I noticed in the game the variety of stages and the distinctive and very clever style of puzzles. The game gave me a dose of different stages, exploration, and the artistic design of the stages was beyond wonderful. We do not hide from you that we are very optimistic about this exciting adventure that may return the series to its old glory again.

Tapping into the story of time again in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

The game took advantage of the story of time and its manipulation. The game takes us to places where time is constantly changing. The events of the game emphasized the collapse of time as if people lived for decades in minutes or hours. The story and events are interesting and I hope they will continue as such in the final version.

They are just initial impressions and do not constitute final opinions about the game, so stay tuned for our review during the next month at the beginning of next year. Our date, as we mentioned, with the game is on January 18 on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series
