Wedding bells will ring in Germany this spring – Prince Ludwig of the Federal Land of Bavaria is getting married. The ceremony will take place in May at a church in Munich, People writes. It is significant that the royal family asked the guests to provide humanitarian aid to others, including victims of the war in Ukraine, instead of gifts.

Prince Ludwig, 40, is the great-grandson of the last Bavarian king, Ludwig III. Although the monarchy in Bavaria dissolved after the First World War, it still formally exists with Duke Franz, the prince’s cousin, at the head. Since the duke has no children of his own, Prince Ludwig will one day become the leader. Duke Franz is also organizing the royal wedding for the new couple.
The wedding ceremony is planned for May 20 at the Theater Church in Munich, followed by a royal reception at Nymphenburg Palace. The Duke of Bavaria has already asked the guests to take into account that we are living in a period of crisis, so gifts should not be given to the newlyweds, instead they should use their money to help others, including war refugees. Prince Ludwig’s chosen one is Sofia Alexandra Ivking (32) – a lady with dual citizenship of Canada and the Netherlands. The future princess has a fine education – she studied in London, graduated from Oxford University and is currently studying there for a doctorate in criminology. Ivkinka is also a lecturer at the University of Oxford – you can take a course with her on the legal aspect in cases of sexual violence. The woman previously worked at the World Health Organization in Switzerland and Geneva, as well as worked at the UN building in New York.
On the other hand, Prince Ludwig studied law in Germany, specializing in human rights issues. Over the past ten years, Ludwig has worked extensively in Kenya, founding various organizations to help Kenyans acquire digital skills more successfully. At the same time, Prince Ludwig also fulfills his duties in Bavaria at the request of his cousin Franz.
The prince and his beloved Sofia got engaged in August 2022. The couple has not revealed their dating story to the general public.
