Prime Minister releases money to rebuild hospital

It is estimated that nearly 40,000 inhabitants of Cher (the north of the department) come under this hospital whose maternity unit closed two years ago for lack of a satisfactory surgical unit. The deputy of Cher, François Cormier-Bouligeon (LREM), says he is satisfied, but it’s just a step… We must not abandon the idea of reopening a surgical unit in Cosne-sur-Loire: ” I say that today, the announcement of these forty-five million investment, is an important step. The next step will be to build teams of health professionals and when we become attractive again, the question of the surgical unit will be raised to redo outpatient surgery in Cosne. I will therefore suggest to Olivier Véran that there be a monitoring committee with local actors, elected officials and users, to monitor the establishment of a new hospital in Cosne. This will allow us to make sure that we will have all the specialties we need and that the building that is going to be constructed will be able to evolve in order to be able to accommodate a surgical unit afterwards. And I’m not forgetting the Bourges hospital either. Four million euros are already budgeted to rebuild emergencies but I intend to fight so that additional credits be released for the Jacques Coeur hospital center because medical teams and patients need much better working and reception conditions. “

In total, the government is committed to an investment plan of 19 billion including 13 billion in hospital debt recovery and 2.5 billion for priority investments.
