A new access version joins the hybrid Ford Escape, with driver assistance technologies and minimal fuel consumption. Thus, the oval firm reinforces its offer of electrified cars in the country.
After the launch of the Ford Escape hybrid of a new generation last April, now the new version arrives in Colombian showcases SE Sport 4 × 2 which maintains the combination of a gasoline and electric motor and various driving assistance technologies. Depending on the brand, this SUV can travel up to 1,200 kilometers with a ‘full’ of gasoline.
This mechanical set combines a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine and an electric motor, with a 200 horsepower totals. They work with an eCVT automatic box, carrying driving force to front axle. It is not necessary to connect the car to the current, since the batteries take energy through the regenerative braking.
Both thrusters they work simultaneously when more power and performance are required, but at moderate speeds such as those found in city driving, the electric motor will drive the vehicle reducing fuel consumption to practically zero levels.
Technology in safety and comfort
As part of its endowment, the new Ford Escape SE Sport 4 × 2 hybrid incorporates 7 airbags and the assistance package “Ford Co-Pilot360” with blind spot sensor, cross traffic alert, lane keeping and centering, anti-collision alert and assistant, automatic high beams, evasive driving assistant and reverse camera.
To all this is added the adaptive cruise control with function Stop & Go, capable of measuring the distance and speed of the vehicles in front so that the vehicle regulates its speed.
Other available accessories are centro multimedia SYNC 3.4 with 8-inch touch screen and voice control, customizable digital dashboard with 12.3-inch screen, wireless cell phone charging and monitor for the hybrid drive system and energy regeneration.
