On Sunday night, an overview was given of Liverpool’s plans to recover from the expected departure of star striker Sadio Mane.
The big man Mane’s name has of course made headlines in the English media to this day.
It comes as the Senegalese is widely credited with telling those in power at Anfield of his intention to scout for new pastures ahead of next season.
German champions Bayern Munich, on the other hand, have emerged as early favorites to sign as Liverpool prepare to live without the services of one of the key pillars of the club’s recent success.
Sadio #Mane is about to move to Bayern Munich. Klopp and his teammates have been informed that he has decided to leave Liverpool.
PSG aren’t quite out of the running yet but prefer Bayern – because they can be the big star there.

So where do the Merseyside giants go from here?
Early suggestions suggested that Luis Diaz acted as Mane’s replacement, while Mohamed Salah retained his place at right flank and centre-forward duties were shared by Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.
However, if one were to go by the media’s final word tonight, that actually does not appear to be the case.
According to a report by the reliable Paul Gorst of The Liverpool Echo, Anfield transfer chiefs are keen to secure a top-flight replacement for the former Southampton standout before approving an exit for Mane.
The target must at least emulate Mane’s goalscoring skills and have the versatility to appear in multiple positions on three fronts.
It is also confirmed that Liverpool intend to ask more than the reported €30m for their attacking media star despite only having 12 months left on his contract at Merseyside.

The run down reds
Of course, the planned release of Word of Mane completes a miserable week for all involved with Liverpool.
With hopes still intact of an unprecedented quad, Klopp and Co were just a point clear of the Premier League title for the first time thanks to an impressive comeback from Manchester City on the final day of play.
Then, just six days later, the Reds turned to continental affairs in a Champions League final against Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid.
Once again, however, Liverpool ended up failing en route to a 1-0 defeat in Paris.
