The first round of voting did not bring the final decision, the second round is needed to determine the winner of the 2020 presidential election: it will be the current president Andrzej Duda and the candidate of the Civic Coalition Rafał Trzaskowski! In the first round of the presidential clash, he received the highest support – as indicated by the late poll conducted by Ipsos for TVN, TVP and Polsat – Andrzej Duda, who won 42.5 percent of the vote. 30.3 percent of voters supported Rafał Trzaskowski.

In effect 12 July the current president and candidate of the Civic Coalition will face in II round of voting.

The first polls on election overtime show a slight advantage of the current host of the Presidential Palace.

In the Kantar survey for “Fakt” TVN and TVN24, carried out after the announcement of the results of the first round, 45.4 percent of respondents said that in the second round they would vote for Andrzej Duda, while 44.7 percent of respondents declared support for Rafał Trzaskowski.

Until 9.9 percent while respondents answered: “I don’t know / It’s difficult to say / I haven’t decided yet”.

The advantage of the incumbent president is also indicated by the Indicator poll for TVP Info, which, however, does not include undecided voters.

This study shows that in the second round of voting Andrzej Duda can count on the support of 50.9 percent of Poles, and Rafał Trzaskowski – on votes 49.1 percent of voters.

On the lowest step of the podium – after Andrzej Duda and Rafał Trzaskowski – he stood in the first round of the presidential clash independent candidate Szymon Hołownia: as pointed out by late poll carried out by Ipsos for TVN, Polsat and TVP, he won 13.5 percent of the vote.

For the candidate of the Confederation Krzysztof Bosak 7.1 percent of the voters voted, and the representative of the Left Robert Biedroń and head of PSL Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz they won 2.5 percent of the vote.

Other candidates – Marek Jakubiak, Paweł Tanajno, Waldemar Witkowski, Stanisław Żółtek and Mirosław Piotrowski – obtained results below one percent of support.

Announcements of the official results of the first round of presidential elections 2020 we can expect – as the chairman of the National Electoral Commission Sylwester Marciniak said – on Tuesday, and at the latest on Wednesday morning.
