US President Donald Trump (73) is already in campaign mode. He likes to show himself on occasions that attract the masses. So at the Daytona 500, the legendary, 500-mile Nascar car race in Daytona Beach, Florida.
–
Trump showed up in Daytona with First Lady Melania (49) on Sunday – and immediately took a lap on the track with his black armored state car “The Beast”, as the Cadillac Number One is also known internally.
–
Trump knows where God lives
Trump called it an “almost patriotic” duty to attend the “big American race”.
–
In a good mood, Trump also seemed to know where exactly God was during his extensive opening speech. He thanked the omnipotence that “made us free” and pointed his finger against the sky where God lives.
–
Why did the President visit Daytona 500?
The Nascar Spectacle is one of the largest motorsport events in the USA. Trump is only the second US president to pay homage to the motorsport spectacle after George W. Bush (73) in 2004.
–
Trump’s visit does not take place without calculation. The Nascar scene is considered conservative and some racing stars have already been guests of Trump in the White House.
–
Trump is very popular in the environment. The show is intended to convince other potential voters. The Swing State Florida is a mandatory trophy for the Republican in November if he wants to stay in the White House for another four years.

Postponed to Monday
But bad luck for Nascar fans and also Trump: Instead of spectacle, he got to see a zero number in Daytona. The classic was postponed to Monday due to rain. (KES)
