According to United States secret services, Russia committed itself to then-President Donald Trump during the November presidential election and attempted to harm Biden. Moscow tried to sow discontent and influence the elections. A report from the office of Avril Haines, coordinator of the secret services, states that Putin and his government “approved and enforced” that.

Biden threatened that the presumed interference in the US presidential election last November will have consequences. “He will pay a price,” said Biden. He personally warned Putin during a phone call they had. “We had a long talk, he and me. I know him relatively well. I said to him: I know you and you know me. If I determine that this has happened, then be prepared. ”

Response Moscow
Biden’s statements are not well received in Moscow. Vyacheslav Volodin, chairman of the State Duma (the Russian House of Commons), speaks of an attack on Russia. “This is hysteria due to impotence,” Volodin said on Telegram. “Putin is our president and an attack on him is an attack on our country.” According to him, Biden not only insulted Putin but all Russian citizens.

For now, Volodin is the highest-ranking official to respond to the interview.

Troops Afghanistan
Biden also responded in the interview to growing criticism from both Democrats and Republicans about how he is dealing with the rising number of people trying to cross the US southern border. “I can say very clearly: don’t come by, don’t leave your town, city or community.” He also rejected the Republicans’ oft-repeated accusation that more people have been trying to immigrate to the US since he became president.

Biden emphasizes that he inherited “a mess” from Trump and that it is important to address the root cause. “People come because their circumstances are very bad. Now some come because they want a better chance, for economic reasons. They are not eligible to stay here, but in the meantime we have to provide beds for the children who come with them. ”

Dog Major
At the end of the interview, Biden also briefly addressed the recent controversy surrounding his dog Major, who was sent home to Delaware after an incident in which a member of White House security personnel was slightly injured.

“Look, Major was a rescue puppy,” says Biden. He admits that Major “tries to protect him at times,” but immediately added that he is “a sweet dog.” “At least 85 percent of the people love him. All he does is wag the tail. ” Major is currently in training and may return to the White House in the future.
