Presented the V edition of the Torrelodones Ancient Music Festival
The Torrelodones Ancient Music Festival (FEMAT) has presented its V edition, after the forced parenthesis of last year due to the anti-Covid confinement. Under the artistic direction of harpsichord player Ignacio Prego, the festival will take place at its usual venue (the Bulevar Theater) on April 9, 10, 16 and 17.
The festival will open on Friday 9th the Vitorian countertenor Carlos Mena accompanied on the vihuela by Manuel Minguillón [en la foto]. The program that gives its name to his latest recording, For you I am burning, will be the protagonist of the night. On Saturday the 10th it will be the turn of one of the Spanish formations with the greatest international presence, the Accademia del Piacere. The Alqhai brothers as a duo will offer a fascinating journey through literature for viola da gamba with their program The Spirit of Gambo.
On Friday the 16th it will be the turn of La Spagna, the group led by Alejandro Marías, which will travel to the glorious era of French Baroque with its program If Versailles could speak… The poster is completed, on the 17th, by the soprano Quiteria Muñoz and the lute player and guitarist Ramiro Morales, who will dedicate their performance to the little ones with a children’s concert called A fairytale music.
