Premiere of ‘Dé-coll/age’: The Climax of Vostell Malpartida Museum’s Contemporary Music Series

The twenty-fifth edition of the Vostell Malpartida Museum’s Contemporary Music Series reaches its climax this Saturday with the absolute premiere of ‘Dé-coll/age’, a performative work by composer Alberto Bernal for moving music bands. This atypical concert is commissioned by the National Center for Musical Diffusion (CNDM) and the Vostell Malpartida Museum Consortium. It will be held on Saturday, October 28, at 12:00 p.m. in the ‘Toni Pedrera’ Multipurpose Pavilion in Malpartida de Cáceres – given the weather forecast – instead of in its original location, the Los Barruecos Natural Monument. This is a community work that vindicates the shared experience that came with the creation of Wolf Vostell’s ‘VOAEX’ sculptures in the Barruecos. Concrete Journey through Alta Extremadura’ (1975) and ‘The Thirsty Dead’ (1977), whose production required the collaboration of numerous Malpartideños, regardless of their experience with the arts. More than four decades later, and to celebrate the first twenty-five editions of this contemporary music cycle, Alberto Bernal has written a work for a wide number of performers. Faithful to this vision, and under the musical direction of Javier González Pereira, a group called La Raya Bandas Collective will participate, whose members come from the Musical Group ‘Los Arcos’, from Malpartida de Cáceres, the Alburquerque Music Band and the Municipal Music of Cáceres. With this performative concert, which was initially scheduled in the month of September and was postponed for meteorological reasons, the celebrations of the twenty-fifth edition of the Contemporary Music Series conclude. ‘Dé-coll/age’ is a co-production of the National Center for Musical Diffusion (dependent on the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music of the Ministry of Culture and Sports), the Vostell Malpartida Museum Consortium, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports of the Government of Extremadura, the City Council of Malpartida de Cáceres and the Provincial Council of Cáceres. It also has the collaboration of the Camões Institute, the Association of Friends of the Vostell Malpartida Museum and the Vostell Malpartida Museum Restaurant.
