Premier League, Football | Solskjær confirms that United are appealing UEFA’s Wan Bissaka decision

– We are very surprised and disappointed, says Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær confirms that Manchester United is appealing UEFA’s decision to impose a two – match ban on Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the Champions League.

The United defender was sent off after putting the knobs in the leg of a Young Boys player when Solskjær and co. was beaten 2-1 in Switzerland in October.

The United manager does not hide that he was surprised when he heard about UEFA’s decision to give Wan-Bissaka an extra match ban.

– Very surprised, very disappointed. Of course we will appeal. It is almost a three-match quarantine, since it happened so early in the match. So there are two thirds of that match in addition, says Solskjær according to Manchester Evening News.

At the same time, the Norwegian suggests that Kevin De Bruyne’s tackle against PSG’s Idrissa Gana Gueye was at least as bad.

– If you look at other tackles from the other side of town, it is probably more dangerous, but it turned out to be a yellow card. It is inconsistent, but that is probably how football is, says Solskjær.

However, the 48-year-old does not give up and also points out Aston Villa’s winning goal at Old Trafford last weekend – a goal Solskjær believes should have been canceled for offside, because Ollie Watkins was in front of David de Gea in offside position when Kortney Hause headed the ball into goal .

– Should we remove VAR, because the decisions will still be discussed? All the rules, laws and justifications we got that Ollie Watkins was not involved in the game … When you shoot, you can now have a player next to the goalkeeper, without him being offside, even if he pushes the goalkeeper. The explanations do not always make sense, Solskjær believes.

On Saturday, Solskjær and co. against Everton for the Premier League settlement at Old Trafford at 13.30.
