Pregnant Nightwish Frontwoman, Floor Jansen, Hospitalized: Shows Cancelled & Health Update

Singer Floor Jansen, the frontwoman of the band Nightwish, was recently taken to hospital by ambulance after a performance with the band in Finland. The singer from Goirle collapsed exhausted, she writes in a message on Instagram. Upcoming shows, the last before her maternity leave, have been cancelled.

Jansen is pregnant with her second child and reports that there is nothing wrong with the unborn baby. “I was so tired that working is no longer an option,” she writes. “For the health of both myself and my unborn baby, I need to rest and fully focus on my recovery and the final stages of my pregnancy.”

Three weeks ago, Jansen’s band canceled the show in Oslo. “I had hoped that I would have enough energy again for my solo shows in the Netherlands, but unfortunately that is not the case,” says the singer.

Jansen is very disappointed that she has to disappoint her fans. “It breaks my heart. It’s a decision I don’t take lightly. For now I’m temporarily saying goodbye to the stage.”

Pregnant
Floor Jansen announced last March that she was expecting her second child. “Freja is going to be a big sister. We are very happy to share this special news with you,” she said at the time.

She performed for the first time last November after recovering from breast cancer. The tumor was discovered by accident a short time before: “The scariest thing is that I didn’t feel it. I thought I was healthy. If I hadn’t gone to that checkup, it wouldn’t have been discovered for a long time and it could have grown much further. “

Phantom of the Opera
In the Netherlands, the general public knows Floor Jansen from the musical duet ‘Phantom of the Opera’ with Henk Poort. Together they participated in the ‘Beste singers’ program in 2019.
