Chairman of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto kissing the hand of the wife of 4th President Abdurrahman Wahid alias Gus Hard, Sinta Nuriyah.
This moment occurred after the two of them attended the 2023 MPR RI Annual Session at the DPR Building, Wednesday (16/8). Sinta was also accompanied by her daughter Yenny Wahid.
At first, Sinta and Yenny were waiting for the car, Prabowo and Gerindra staff who were not far behind approached them.
Prabowo then shook hands with Sinta while bringing his body closer to Sinta who was sitting in a wheelchair.
Yenny, who was next to Prabowo, also bowed and approached his mother.
Afterwards, Prabowo kissed Sinta’s hand and led her to the car.
While accompanying Sinta to the car, Prabowo seemed to be having a conversation with Yenny.
After Sinta got into the car, Prabowo’s conversation with Yenny continued until finally Sinta’s car left the location.
Also accompanied by Prabowo, Deputy Head of Gerindra Budisatrio Djiwandono, Member of the Board of Trustees Andre Rosiade, and politician Gerindra Yan Permenas.
Yenny Wahid recently assessed that it would be difficult for Prabowo to gain support from Gus Dur’s followers if he chose Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin as running mate.
“If Cak Imin is his companion, it will be very difficult to get support from all of Gus Dur’s followers throughout Indonesia,” said Yenny when talking with CNNIndonesia.com in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, Friday (11/8).
Yenny assessed that Prabowo already understood the political stance taken by Gus Dur’s nuclear family towards Cak Imin. Because of that, he said Prabowo would definitely understand the political risks that exist if he later chose Cak Imin as his running mate.
“So Pak Prabowo definitely understands the political risks that will be taken. Now he really understands our conscience,” said Yenny.
On the other hand, Yenny believes that the presidential candidates who will compete in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election will ask for support from various parties, including from Gus Dur’s nuclear family and his followers.
“Yes, as a presidential candidate, I think it is fair to assume that they will definitely ask for support from many parties, yes, of course,” he said.
