PPP Defends Attorney General Regarding Alleged Polygamy: Something Is Disturbed

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Member of Commission III of the DPR from the PPP faction, Arsul Sani defending the Attorney General ST Burhanuddin reported on suspicion of polygamy or marriage to an official at the Attorney General’s Office.

Arsul considered the report as an attack from a number of parties who were disturbed by the performance of the Attorney General in handling a number of cases. Moreover, he said, reports on Burhanuddin’s alleged polygamy were also personal and had nothing to do with performance.

“Why is the issue of polygamy only being raised now, because it seems that certain parties are disturbed or have their interests disturbed by a number of things that are JA policies or decisions,” Arsul said to CNNIndonesia.com, Friday (5/11).

He mentioned a number of cases handled by the Attorney General’s Office and were considered to have triggered the attack on Burhanuddin. A number of these cases, such as the Jiwasraya and Asabri corruption cases.

According to Arsul, the issue of Burhanuddin’s polygamy is an outdated issue that has not been proven until now. As a partner of the Attorney General’s Office, Arsul emphasized that Commission III will not be affected by fried food issues that are not related to performance.

“What we continue to see is the performance of JA, not looking at issues that are not related to the performance of the prosecutor’s office as a law enforcement agency,” he said.

Arsul suggested that the AGO should be able to lower intelligence to investigate the parties suspected of carrying out the attack on Burhanuddin. Including the parties who reported this case to the ASN Commission.

The report was known before the Executive Director of Jaga Adhyaksa David Sitorus sent it to KASN on Thursday (4/11). As an ASN, Burhanuddin was reported to be related to allegations of having two wives or polygamy.

In accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 94 of 2021 concerning Civil Servant Discipline, disciplinary sanctions are regulated for civil servants who practice polygamy and divorce. Civil servants who violate the provisions will be sentenced to one of the penalties.
