The Austrian House and Real Estate Association (ÖHGB) has made several inquiries. In most cases, according to a spokesman, landlords and tenants can agree, but the ÖHGB knows two cases in which the fronts are hardened.
There is no real solution – only two options: The operating cost Pay yourself or sell the property, it says there.
In addition, the deferred rent and the operating cost May 1 from January 1, but a termination due to the arrears is only possible from July 1, 2022. “Many fear that they will no longer see their money,” says a spokesman for the ÖHGB.
The Tenants Association relativized: The operating cost make in Vienna an average of 1.80 euros per square meter. With a 100 square meter apartment, the backlog would be less than 600 euros over three months – a manageable amount. Chairperson Elke Hanel-Tosch continues to advocate one Solidarity potthat covers hardship cases. So neither tenant nor landlord would have a problem.
