PostNL is raising its expectations for the operational profit for 2020 to at least 175 million euros, the company said on Tuesday. According to CEO Herna Verhagen, PostNL has had a strong third quarter, which also makes a resumption of dividend over 2020 possible. At the same time, the second pandemic wave is creating more uncertainty.
“Our financial position has improved significantly thanks to the strong operating results,” said Verhangen in a press release. The financial room for maneuver will be used to accelerate digitization, according to the company. In addition, PostNL expects to resume dividend for 2020.
“I am pleased to announce that we expect to be able to pay a dividend over 2020,” said Verhangen. Full-time employees can count on an extra net benefit of 250 euros, according to PostNL.
The fourth and most important quarter for PostNL has become more uncertain due to the second corona wave. The company takes into account higher absenteeism and lower spending during the holidays. This also obscures the view of next year.
The quarterly figures of PostNL will be announced on November 2.
