Post Malone has already raised more than 2.7 million dollars (about 2.5 million euros) for charity by playing Nirvana covers.
The singer was seen on Friday in a 75-minute live stream on YouTube, in which he had songs like Come as You Are, In Bloom and Lithium sang. Post Malone was assisted by bassist Brian Lee and guitarist Nick Mack, who lived with him, and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. The four were connected through earplugs.
According to Variety Almost 200,000 people listened to the concert within five minutes. Courtney Love, the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic listened in.
Post Malone said that he often plays Nirvana songs backstage when he is on tour. In between the companies he also announced the arrival of a new album. “I am so very proud of that.”
Proceeds from the concert will go to the United Nations’ COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
