Corona virus positive caseCovid-19) increased by 20,467 today, Tuesday (29/6). Thus, the total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 2,156,465 since it was first announced in early March 2020 by President Joko Widodo.
Referring to data from the central government’s Covid-19 Handling Task Force, of the total positive cases, 1,869,606 of them have been declared cured. Patients who recovered from Covid-19 infection increased by 9,645 from the previous day.
Then of the total positive cases, as many as 58,024 died. The number of patients who died after being infected with the corona virus increased by 463 from today.
The number of specimens examined was 143,957. Referring to the data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, the number of active cases now stands at 228,835, an increase of 10,359 from the previous day.
Positive cases of the corona virus in the country rose sharply a few weeks after the long Eid al-Fitr holiday. Hospitals in various regions began to experience a significant increase in the number of patients.
The number of new positive cases in the country had broken a record, namely on 27 June with the addition of 21,342. The number of new cases is the highest since the corona virus outbreak in Indonesia in early March 2020.
The government has implemented strict Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) since last June 22. The rules were then revised, among others, by limiting mall operating hours to 17.00 and food ordering services at restaurants only until 20.00.
