Position distribution within VHP as good as around – Suriname Herald

The distribution of positions within the VHP seems almost complete. Sources within the VHP report to Suriname Herald, that the party already has a few people in view for the various positions and functions. Dew Sharman has been put forward for the vice-chairmanship of The National Assembly (DNA), while Asiskumar Gajadien will be the leader of the coalition group in parliament. It is not yet known who will become the party leader of the VHP.

Regarding the ministerial posts, it is heard that Albert Ramdien goes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Krishna Mathoera becomes the Minister of Defense. The names of the chosen assembly candidate of Paramaribo, Cheryl Dijksteel and Manodj Hindori, the current director of the St. Vincent Hospital, are circulating for the Ministry of Health.

Suriname Herald learns that the elected assembly member for Wanica, Reshma Mangre, may become the Minister of Labor, while the name of a certain Sewdien is mentioned for the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. There are two names circulating for the Ministry of Public Works, namely of elected assembly member Riad Nurmohamed and ex-minister Ganeshkoemar Kandhai. For the Ministry of Finance, the name of Armand Achaibersing is mentioned. It is not yet known who will go to the Minister of Trade and Industry.

Within the VHP, the response has been quite indignant because several members believe that the party did not involve the structures in making decisions. For today, a main board meeting is scheduled to discuss matters. As planned, the elected assembly members will be admitted tomorrow. Then the chairman and vice-chairman of DNA are elected.
