This Friday, Portugal guaranteed qualification for the final of the U19 Futsal European Championship, by beating Slovenia 3-2 at the Zatika Arena, in Porec, Croatia.
Tomás Colaço gave Portugal the lead after ten minutes, but Lovro Skrinjar equalized just over a minute later (11m).
In the second half, an own goal by Anze Zlindra, in the 22nd minute, gave Portugal a new lead, but the Slovenes managed another equalizer, through Cop, in the 27th minute.
Portugal’s winning goal was scored by Lúcio Rocha, with one minute and 11 seconds remaining.
The team coached by José Luís Mendes is waiting for Ukraine and Spain in the final. Ukrainians and Spaniards will compete in the other semi-final, starting at 7:30 pm this Friday.
The final is scheduled for 7:30 pm on Sunday.
Portugal returns to the final, as in 2022, the year in which it lost to Spain, the only European under-19 futsal champion: in addition to last year’s success against the Portuguese team, the Spanish won the first edition, in 2019, against Croatia.
