The semiconductor company MediaTek has launched this Tuesday a new processor model for mobiles, Dimensity 800U, which provides a seven-nanometer architecture and 5G connectivity to mid-range mobiles.
The new MediaTek processors provide new connectivity functions to 5G mobiles, such as the possibility of use two SIM cards, both with 5G connectivity, which provides “more stable” 5G connections, as reported by the Taiwanese company in a statement.
Dimensity 800U processors are designed with seven nanometer architecture, and make use of a 5G modem that supports networks SA and NSA in the sub-6GHz band. The chip has eight cores, two of them Arm Cortex-A76 with a frequency of 2.4GHz and another six Arm Cortex-A55 at 2.0GHz.
Also, Dimensity 800U integrates an Arm Mali-G57 graphics unit (GPU), an independent AI processing unit (APU) and support for RAM powered by LPDDR4x.
Dimensity 800U is compatible with mobile with high-end specifications such as displays with 120Hz refresh rate, support for high dynamic range content HDR10+, with an integrated image engine to optimize various types of video, and quad cameras up to 64MP.
For their part, the mobiles that use it will have functions such as voice unlock and dual microphone noise reduction technology, as well as reduced power consumption for voice assistants.
