Blanca Estela Pavón, also known as “La Chorreada”, was a singer and leading actress in several important films of the Cine de Oro in Mexico. In fact, she was a co-star with Pedro Infante in films like ‘Nosotros Los Pobres’, ‘Los Tres Huastecos’ and ‘Ustedes Los Ricos’ for which she was nominated in the Best Actress category at the Ariel Awards in 1948.

According to the information, the actress would pass away on September 26, 1949. She was traveling in a twin-engine XA-DUH of Mexicana de Aviación that had left Oaxaca. She was accompanied by the historian Salvador Toscano Jr, Senator Gabriel Ramos Millán and his father, Francisco Pavón. However, the tranquility changed as soon as the pilots reported an immense cloud of smoke emanating from Popocatépetl. Consequently, the pilots lost control of the plane and crashed.
