Pope Francis goes to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Holy See to express his thanks to outgoing minister Cardinal Radaria. In July this year, the Pope appointed Archbishop Fernández as the successor of Cardinal Radaria.

(Vatican News Network) Pope Francis personally went to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Holy See on September 5 to express his gratitude to Cardinal Luis Francisco Ladaria Ferrer, the outgoing Minister of Doctrine. Bruni, director of the Holy See Press Office, then issued an announcement saying, “After 9 o’clock this morning, the Pope went to the Congregation for the Doctrine to meet the cardinal and thank him for his work and his service over the years.” Afterwards, the Pope also greeted the staff of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Doctrine.

The 79-year-old Cardinal Radaria, who became a Jesuit in 1966, was appointed Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Holy See on 1 July 2017. On July 1 this year, Francis appointed 61-year-old Archbishop Monsignor Víctor Manuel Fernández as the new minister of the ministry, succeeding Cardinal Radaria. Previously, Fernandez was Archbishop of La Plata, Argentina.
