The Pontevedra-Salnés health area goes to level 2 of restrictions approved by the Xunta. Starting friday it will be closed in its entirety although mobility will be allowed between all the municipalities of the same. The only exception will be Catoira, the only council in the area that is in high alert level 1, and that it will continue to be closed on the perimeter when it exceeds 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
In the other municipalities of the sanitary area You can open the hotel business, but only outside and until 6 in the afternoon. They may also open the commercial areas during the weekends. And the meetings with a maximum of 4 people who do not live together.
Measures that are applied to the entire health area of Pontevedra-Salnes due to the fact that it still has an average incidence between 250 and 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days, and above all due to the high care pressure that is maintained in hospitals, especially in the ICU.
However, the President of the Xunta stated that these restrictions may improve next weeka, if the health area continues to reduce infections as in recent days.
The Santiago-Deza-Barbanza health area, and Vigo, go to level 3 of restrictions. At this level are those municipalities with the best data.
In this case, the meetings are held for a maximum of 4 people who do not live together; the opening of the hotel business at 30% indoor capacity and 50% outdoor, until 6 in the afternoon. And they can open gyms, swimming pools and other leisure centers with limited capacity.
The de-escalation Plan designed by the Xunta also includes a level 1, maximum alert for those municipalities with an infection rate higher than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. A situation in which Catoira is only found in the Pontevedra-Salnés area. These councils maintain the toughest restrictions, with perimeter closure, closed hospitality and meetings only with cohabitants.
The President of the Xunta clarified that From now on, the scale to take measures will be the incidence of cases within 7 days, and that depending on the data, the restrictions will be modified immediately.
Feijóo also explained that a Specific plan for the hospitality industry, with the aim that the reopening is much safer. In this sense, he asked the owners but also the customers for responsibility, so as not to have to close this sector again. The President explained that so far, the Xunta has already spent 160 million euros in the rescue of the Hospitality sector, an amount with which a Hospital can be built.
