The San Antonio Spurs started the year with a win. They beat the Golden State Warriors 117: 113 after extra time on Tuesday (local time) in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Jakob Pöltl contributed four points, seven rebounds, four assists and a block in 15:21 minutes on the floor.
The center from Vienna let it rip off on New Year’s Eve. He made a dunk in the second quarter with a dunk over two opponents to 34:36 in the meantime from the point of view of the Texans for a highlight of the game. “At the beginning, we defended a bit sloppy,” wrote Pöltl on Facebook. “But in the end we did the job.”
DeMar DeRozan was the top scorer with 24 points, Patty Mills scored 18 points, LaMarcus Aldridge recorded 17 points and twelve rebounds. With the 14th success of the season, the tenth in front of their own audience, the Spurs cemented eighth place in the Western Conference, which just barely entitles them to play off.
Oklahoma City defeats Dallas
In the first game of 2020, Oklahoma City Thunder will be in San Antonio on Thursday. The conference seventh in the west celebrated a 106: 101 win over the Dallas Mavericks in the last game of 2019. Chris Paul scored 13 of his 17 points in the final quarter. Thunder top scorers were the Italian Danilo Gallinari and the German Dennis Schröder, each with 20 points. 35 points from young Slovenian star Luka Doncic were not enough for Dallas.
