Austria’s NBA legionnaire Jakob Pöltl should have more playing time if the season continues in the North American professional professional league. His San Antonio Spurs will be without LaMarcus Aldridge for the rest of the season. The Star Forward had already had shoulder surgery in April. The Spurs announced on Monday.

Aldridge should be available again until the training camp for the 2020/21 season. Before that, NBA games are not an issue for him. Aldridge is San Antonio’s main player under the basket. The 34-year-old scored 18.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this season. Center Pöltl has always been on his side – sometimes but also in his place.

Aldridge’s original injury had already occurred in February. A little later, Pöltl also suffered a ligament strain in the knee, which should no longer hinder him from resuming play. The NBA season has been interrupted since March 10, but is expected to continue on July 31. The Spurs are one of six teams that are allowed to participate in the rest of the program, but are not on a play-off place. They are currently four wins behind them.
