Pollster arrested in Austrian media scandal | Abroad

The woman is only described as opinion pollster B. by the newspaper Der Standard. She would have been arrested for destroying evidence, while she would have played a central role in the entire affair. Just before an earlier search by the special unit investigating the case, she erased her computer’s hard drive. The researchers found nothing more.

Years ago, B. falsified opinion polls in favor of the People’s Party (ÖVP). She would have had money for that through opaque constructions. Kurz has been succeeded by his party colleague Alexander Schallenberg. Kurz claims to have done nothing wrong and denies the charges.
