In a poll conducted in May this year, residents were asked to rate how likely, in their opinion, there is a possibility that Muslim terrorists could organize terrorist acts in Latvia as well. This year, the majority of respondents acknowledged that, in general, such a possibility is unlikely. 45% of respondents said that they thought such a possibility was rather unbelievable, while another 21% of respondents were convinced that such a scenario was completely unbelievable.
–
The opposite opinion was expressed by 27% of respondents in the survey, who consider the possibility to be reliable in general – 21% of the population think that it is rather reliable, and another 6% – that it is completely reliable.
–
This year, the fixed indicator is the lowest in the history of the survey, the proportion of the population who do not believe in the possibility of a terrorist attack organized by Muslim terrorists in Latvia, increasing for the fifth year in a row.
–
The proportion of the population believing in this scenario rose sharply in 2016, when a number of such terrorist attacks took place in Europe, but in the following years concerns about it among the population have diminished.
