Poland is holding presidential elections today – in the world

Poland holds presidential elections on Sunday.

There are a total of 11 candidates in the election, but the main contenders for the head of state are the current President Andrzej Duda, supported by the ruling National Conservative Party “Law and Justice”, and Warsaw Mayor Rafal Chaskowski from the opposition Liberal Party “Civic Platform”.

Opinion polls show that on Sunday, Duda could get 40-45% of the vote and Chaskovsky 20-25% of the vote, and they would have to compete in the second round of elections.

According to survey data, in the second round each of them could get 45-50% of the vote. Duda has minimal support, but policy analysts say it is impossible to predict who will win the second round.

The term of office of the President of Poland is five years.

30 million Polish citizens have the right to vote.
