Last year, another card was sold for an amount of € 138,000. If the identity of the buyer is not known, it has however been communicated that it is an American.
There are only 39 copies in the world
This card is not just any card, it illustrates Pikachu, the electric creature, emblematic of the Pokémon family. Only 39 of these illustrated Pikachu cards have been distributed worldwide. In addition, they were not sold in the traditional circuit because they did not appear inside the packages offered in the trade. The lucky holders of these cards were the winners of a comic book contest organized in 1998, specifies the specialized media.
The creatures of this famous game aren’t the only ones to be auctioned off. About ten days ago, a copy from the 1985 Super Mario game, not yet unboxed, was sold for $ 114,000 in the United States, or just over € 100,000.
