Pokémon Legends: Arceus – 360° video shows how empty the game world is

Pokémon Legends: Arceus could seem a lot less alive and populated than fans would like.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is coming. Nintendo and Game Freak are banging the advertising drum, including several interactive 360° videos. While they’re actually pretty cool because you can look around them from the first person perspective, what you see is disappointing for many fans. The graphics look a bit more old-fashioned than expected, but above all the game world looks very empty and lifeless.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus presents itself in 360° interactive video

That’s what it’s about: It really won’t be long now until the next big Pokémon game comes out. It’s called Pokémon Legends: Arceus and it’s releasing next week for the Nintendo Switch. You can see what awaits you in it and what gameplay innovations the title brings in this current trailer:

Cool, interactive 360° video: A new video now even allows you to take a close look at the game world yourself. This means that with the help of the new trailers it is possible to look around yourself. The videos show the game world of Pokémon Legends: Arceus from a first-person perspective, and you can change the viewpoint and look around in any direction by simply holding the video and dragging the image with your mouse or finger on smartphones .

Almost like VR: Of course, what can be seen here is strongly reminiscent of virtual reality titles or first person modes from other games. Such a perspective will probably not be available as a standard feature in Pokémon Legends, but of course the whole thing is excellent for taking a leisurely look around in this trailer. Pokemon fans are pretty disappointed with the empty world

The problem with the actually cool video: What’s on display is quite underwhelming to many Pokémon fans. The graphics leave many at a loss, their quality is criticized and reminds commentators of N64 times. The vegetation offers little variety, and the water and sky aren’t exactly impressive.

The game world is empty: What’s also striking in this video is how little seems to be going on in the world of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. While there are some Pokemon to see in the wild, there are quite a few of them. Otherwise it seems as if the open areas of the game are primarily populated with only a few trees and rocks.

But that doesn’t have to mean: Don’t fret too soon. The low resolution of the video is probably due to the 360° perspective and interactivity. Also, of course, we don’t know how exactly what’s shown here will ultimately match what’s going to be seen in the finished game. There might be bigger differences. In the end, of course, the gameplay is what counts most.

More on Pokemon:

When is Pokémon Legends: Arceus coming? It really doesn’t take much longer now. Already next week, more precisely on January 28th, the time has come. Then the next big Pokémon game will come to the Nintendo Switch. Until then, you could still while away the time with Pokémon Radiant Diamond and Shining Pearl or New Pokémon Snap.

What do you think of the video and what is in it?
