Pokémon GO: Niantic establishes new coin system

In Pokémon GO, tight cash registers can be filled in the future by successfully completing small tasks. Australia is used by developer Niantic as a test laboratory for the update.

Poké Coins are so far only earned by defending arenas, this turns out to be less practical in times of initial restrictions. Since a predominant part of the world population Pokémon GO has been playing mostly within their own four walls for weeks, the coin system is being revised accordingly. In the future, the currency will also be earned using small tasks, the update will be tested in Australia in a timely manner. If the feedback on the rollout is positive, the innovation is introduced for all trainers. In order to balance the system appropriately, the defense of an arena will soon only bring in two instead of six coins per hour – the daily limit will be increased to 55.

Niantic has already announced some of the daily activities that Poké Coins will be able to get: Good, great, and fabulous throws fill players’ wallets, The same applies to catching a Pokémon. Additional resources will be unlocked if a berry is used to catch them. If the pocket monster is caught, the use of a power-up and the development of additional coins also bring. A snapshot with the respective buddy and the dispatch of a Pokémon also let the cash register ring. Last but not least, winning a raid is rewarded – the coins are worth five coins. The developer keeps the community informed about the progress of the test phase.
