Tokyo: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Modi, who will arrive in Tokyo on the 27th, will also meet with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Abe is Japan’s longest-serving prime minister. Shinzo Abe (67) was shot by an assailant while speaking at an election campaign meeting in the city of Nara on 8 July. The bullet entered the right side of the neck and heart. Abe was given first aid and transferred to hospital by helicopter. During the treatment, 100 blood vials were administered, but no results were observed.
Tetsuya Yamagami (41), a former Navy member who was shot, was arrested on the spot.
