‘PlayStation Store will be adapted for the PS5 release’

For the PS5 release from PlayStation Store also get a lick of paint, claims the French website Planet Vita. After adjustments were made to the PlayStation Trophies you will now also notice a difference when buying games. Sony will stop selling games and DLC via the internet or smartphone. Fortunately, this only applies to PlayStation 3, PSP and PlayStation Vita games. The change will take effect from October 19. From this date you can only make purchases via the PlayStation 4. Soon also via the PS5, of course, but there is not yet.

No changes are planned for PlayStation 4 games at this time. You can still buy these on the web and on your smartphone.

Also changes for PS4 and PS5?

The adjustment will be for the PlayStation 4 and 5 also bring some changes. You will soon no longer be able to buy apps, themes and avatars from web or mobile for your PS4 or PS5. This may not affect the actual games, but it does ensure that your PS4 or PS5 is the only option to purchase in those categories.

It is not clear yet when this last change will take effect. For this we still have to wait for an official confirmation from Sony.
