PlayStation 4 Update 7.5: First beta tests have started

The PS4 is just seeing the beginning of the end of its life cycle when that turns out PlayStation 5 release date is approaching, but that hasn’t stopped Sony from releasing new updates for PlayStation 4. According to some players reporting on Twitter, they have received invitations to try the PlayStation 4 7.50 update, which is now ready for beta testing.

The PlayStation 4 has gone through many updates since its release in 2013. While updates typically improve security or performance, large updates usually change basic PS4 features. For example, the 7:00 update gave the PlayStation 4 the players 16 maximum number of participants from the original 8 players, improved the voice chat quality and updated remote play to be able to be used on more device types.

Some users on Twitter have shared a screenshot of an invitation to the latest PS4 Beta firmware update. Here is one of the invitations translated from Japanese below:

We invite you to beta test the PS4 system software 7.50. Please take part in this test program. Thank you for your cooperation in improving the quality of system software in the future. There are no new features in this beta test. Improved operational stability.

Sometimes no new functions in the PS4 7.5 update!

Although there are no new features for beta testers in this update, there is a good chance that beta testers can see and test some in the coming months. Update 7.50 doesn’t seem to have an official release date yet, but as it’s gradually becoming available to the public, players may see this update sooner rather than later.

We will see how long Sony will continue to support its PS4. However, this could be longer than originally planned. After all, there are work stops in China due to the corona virus in several production sites in China that produce components for the PlayStation 5. Can the PS5 keep its intended release before Christmas 2020? Let us know what you think in the comments!
