In three hours, “McCartney 3, 2, 1” wanders through timeless tracks by The Beatles and some tracks from Wings and his solo journey. In the company of Rick Rubin, they break down the tracks of those masters tapes that we have recorded in our memory, making us discover something new in songs that we have known all our lives.

In the documentary, the musician also goes over anecdotes from his formative years, the impression of meeting his idols on tours, the inspiration from the world that surrounded the Fab Four for their work and the surprises of continuing to discover music, chords and hooks.

Within this surprise is that Paul McCartney is mentioning milestones and songs by other artists in “McCartney 3, 2, 1”. And this is how in the 180 minutes of the serial documentary we find jewels that span different worlds. From great voices like Frank Sinatra and Edith Piaf to the African world of Fela Kuti, including rock and roll idols like Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and The Everly Brothers.
