Players are responding to Roland Garro’s rescheduling on social media

The decision to postpone the French Open Grand Slam tennis tournament to September was not as well received by the players as one would expect. Most players complain about the lack of communication and discussion with the players as the main reason for their dissatisfaction with the schedule change.

Here are some of the reactions from players on their Twitter accounts. Tennys Sandgren:Let’s play the last 3 slams in a row

Noah Rubin:Despite these unprecedented times, one would think that this would encourage more communication.

They tell me there is no more perfect time to involve all of the players. Not that we’re doing anything!

Mitchell Krueger: Another bomb without consultation or warning. Expect serious backlash in this case …

Jamie Murray: Strong step from French Open / FFT until the end of September.

I thought the forces in tennis should only work together these days? ????

Naomi Osaka: Excuse me?

Donna Vekic: Excuse me?

Simon Häring: René Stammbach, member of the ITF board of directors and in self-quarantine at the time, says: «I didn’t know that.

We discussed scenarios two weeks ago. But moving the French Open wasn’t one of them. I’m surprised and I don’t know if that makes sense. »

Jon Wertheim: I just spoke to a top ATP professional: “[French Open] asked for forgiveness, not permission.

Because they knew they wouldn’t get permission. But I’m not sure they will be forgiven. ”

Diego Schwartzman: Again … we found out on Twitter

Sorana Cirstea: What ??? Find out again via Twitter …

Alla Kudryavtseva: Dear Roland Garros, although I am happy that the French tennis association is taking precautions to ensure that the tournament will take place sometime, I would appreciate it if the players were informed before a Twitter announcement

Mardy Fish: Waaaaaaaaaaaaas. Roger didn’t miss the sand season.
